If you are interested in having a website designed (or built as I prefer to call it, as it's a bit like building a structure) then one of the first things I would ask you to think about is your domain name.

Have a look at the examples section to see what other sites have called themselves. Remember, if you have a few services or products to offer we can list keywords in your webpage (some hidden and some may be referred to in your opening text) to enable people to find you in the search engines.

Your Website
If you were coming to me as a client, the first thing I would ask you to do is to have a look at other websites and note down your likes and dislikes. If possible, cut and paste their addresses into an e-mail or word doc to send me (highlight then Ctrl C to copy, Ctrl V to paste) or at least note them down to send to me (contact me for details).

The next thing to think about is your menu headings. This can be the hardest bit as it requires such focus. However, it is a great process for you/your business to go through. It is a similar procedure to producing a brochure etc. but remember, unlike your brochure, pages on a website can be amended, added to or deleted in the future as you develop.

Then, after seeing your likes, dislikes, I would ask you to e-mail or send me any logos, brochures, images and typed text you already have. If you don't have a logo designed this service could be offered but would have to be added to the cost.

I would make an initial front page design for you to comment on and upload it to my website for your approval. We would then start the negotiating process!
